Job summary

Maury County Public Schools is seeking a dedicated Classroom Aide to support students with disabilities in a dynamic school setting. Under the supervision of the classroom teacher, you will attend to the personal needs of students and assist with daily activities and mobility as required.

Responsibilities include managing student behavior, providing clerical support to teachers, preparing learning materials, and ensuring safety procedures are followed.

Qualifications

• High School Diploma or GED required.
• Experience or training to perform the role with appropriate support.
• Ability to work under supervision of the classroom teacher and assist with personal needs of disabled students.

Responsibilities

• Helps students walk, board buses, assist with prosthetic devices, eat, dress, and perform other physical activities as needed.
• Assists with student management.
• Provides clerical assistance to teachers.
• Sets up and operates learning/development equipment and materials.
• Tutors students.
• Follows safety rules and proper procedures associated with the job.
• Keeps information on student records confidential.
• Participates in district-provided restraint/de-escalation training.
• Performs other duties as assigned.
