Job summary

Utica Community Schools is seeking a Special Education Teacher Assistant (AIM) to support students with special needs at Wiley Elementary in Utica, Michigan. The role requires assisting with personal care, behavioral programs, and classroom activities during a 9:00 am–4:00 pm school day.

Position may move between sites based on student needs. Applicants should have a high school diploma, a calm demeanor, confidentiality, and a willingness to be trained in health-related areas.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent is required.
• Ability to assist students with personal needs including hygiene, toileting, and clothing.
• Able to support students with multiple challenges in classroom settings.
• Willingness to be trained in health-related awareness and interventions.
• Good attendance is required.
• Willingness to work at multiple sites as needed.
• Maintain records and communicate with parents when required.
• Demonstrates patient, calm demeanor and respect for dignity.
