Job Description
Qualifications:
- High school diploma or equivalent required.
- Demonstrated understanding of student needs, ability and desire to work with special needs students.
- Assist student(s) with personal needs, including but not limited to hygiene, diapering, toileting, and clothing.
- Ability to assist student(s) with multiple challenges in the classroom/school environment.
- Ability to follow through with prescribed behavioral management or instructional programs.
- Ability to maintain composure and communication during stressful situations.
- May need good physical flexibility such as ability to run, walk, lift and/or respond to student physical needs.
- Willingness to be trained in area(s) of student health related awareness and intervention.
- Willingness to accept assignment at multiple and potentially differing sites and locations depending on individual student needs as determined by the District.
- Willingness to be assigned as general help during "down-periods".
- Maintain various records and file, parent contact may be required.
- Characteristics sought include: Child-centered, adaptability, calm demeanor, respect for dignity, patience, confidentiality, and ability to alertly focus during times of potential distraction.
- Wheelchair assistance may be required.
- Good attendance required.
Description:
- 7 hrs a day - 9:00 am - 4:00pm (no lunch) - Special Education Teacher Assistant -AIM (Adjusted, Integrated, Modified curriculum)
- Location may change and/or hours may increase or decrease due to student and/or program needs.
- Application deadline for UPPA Candidates: August 17, 2026 @ 4 pm. External Candidates: open until filled.
- Work year based on student attendance.
