Job summary

Utica Community Schools is seeking a Special Education Teacher Assistant to support students with ASD at Flickinger Elementary in Utica, Michigan. The 7-hour day runs from 8:15 am to 3:45 pm with a 30-minute lunch; location and hours may vary by needs.

Start date is immediate and the district requires online application. Candidates must have a high school diploma and be willing to assist with personal care and health-related procedures, while maintaining confidentiality and consistent

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent.
• Ability to assist students with special needs.
• Assist with personal care tasks (hygiene, diapering, toileting, clothing).
• Follow behavioral management or instructional programs.
• Maintain composure in stressful situations.
• May need physical flexibility (lift, run, walk).
• Willing to be trained in health-related awareness.
• Willing to work at multiple sites as determined by the District.
• Willing to be assigned as general help during down periods.
• Maintain records and parent contact as required.
• Good attendance required.
• Wheelchair assistance may be required.
