Qualifications

• High School diploma or GED required; related experience preferred.
• Must possess a valid driver’s license; Louisiana license required within appointment.
• Complete basic animal control training within one year of hire.
• May complete state-regulated euthanasia training and certification within two years.

Responsibilities

• Perform daily care for animals: feeding, water, exercise, and routine baths.
• Clean, disinfect kennels, cages, bowls and related equipment.
• Handle, tag, and move animals; maintain accurate location records.
• Assist veterinarians during exams, vaccinations, and evaluations.
• Assist visitors with adoption, reclaim, and impounding processes.
