Rolling Ridge Assisted Living in Newton Grove, NC, is seeking an experienced Cook to join our culinary team and prepare nutritious, appetizing meals for residents with dietary considerations.

As a Cook, you will follow menu plans, maintain high sanitation standards, and collaborate with the Dietary Manager to ensure timely service and portion control. Prior senior living or healthcare kitchen experience is preferred.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent (required).
• Previous cooking experience in a senior living, healthcare, or restaurant setting (preferred).
• Knowledge of food safety standards and regulations.
• Ability to follow recipes and meal plans.
• Strong organizational and time-management skills.
• Compassion for and a desire to work with the elderly.

Responsibilities

• Food Preparation: Prepare and cook meals according to menu plans, ensuring food is nutritious, appetizing, and prepared according to dietary requirements and resident preferences.
• Meal Service: Ensure meals are served in a timely manner, maintaining high standards of quality, portion control, and presentation.
• Kitchen Maintenance: Maintain a clean, organized, and sanitary kitchen environment by following food safety and sanitation procedures.
• Team Collaboration: Work closely with the Dietary Manager and kitchen staff to ensure smooth kitchen operations and quality service.
• Inventory Control: Assist with inventory management and help track food supplies.
• Resident Engagement: Respond to special dietary requests and accommodate residents’ food preferences.
• Regulatory Compliance: Adhere to health and safety regulations, including safe food handling and proper sanitation practices.
