Job summary

Simpson is seeking a Cook to join our Senior Living team in Downingtown, PA. You will prepare nutritious meals for residents, collaborate with the culinary team, and ensure food is served with quality and hospitality. This position emphasizes safety, dietary accommodations, and resident-focused service.

Responsibilities include menu planning, accurate meal preparation, and maintaining a clean, efficient kitchen. The ideal candidate has HS Diploma and culinary experience, with Serv Safe preferred.

Qualifications

• HS Diploma and 3 years of cooking experience in a senior living or healthcare setting.
• Knowledge of nutrition and special dietary requirements for seniors (low-sodium, diabetic-friendly, pureed).
• Serv Safe certification or equivalent food safety training.

Responsibilities

• Plan menus to meet nutritional requirements and dietary needs of residents.
• Prepare meals according to recipes and portion sizes, ensuring proper temperatures and presentation.
• Modify recipes for dietary restrictions and communicate with kitchen staff.
• Manage kitchen operations: inventory control, ordering supplies, and maintain sanitation.
• Assist in training new kitchen staff and collaborate with team to ensure timely service.
• Gather resident feedback to improve menu offerings.
