Job summary

Sodalis Senior Living is seeking a Cook to assist the Culinary Director in preparing meals in accordance with approved menus and standards. The role involves cooking at 8am, noon, and 5pm, maintaining safety, and ensuring leftovers are properly stored.

You will work with elderly residents, following state regulations and company values. Qualified applicants should have food handler certification or be willing to obtain it within two weeks.

Qualifications

• Ability to read and follow written recipes.
• Knowledge of basic food groups and nutrition.
• Understanding of food safety and sanitation standards.
• Comfort working in a care-setting with elderly residents.
• Ability to manage time andportion control.

Responsibilities

• Prepare and serve meals at scheduled times.
• Follow approved menus and suggest improvements.
• Maintain cleanliness of kitchen, dining room and pantry.
• Monitor food temperatures and storage requirements.
• Label and date leftovers and stock.
• Assist with inventory and ordering as needed.
• Respond to residents’ dietary needs and preferences.
• Follow safety procedures and handle cleaning chemicals properly.
• Support the Culinary Director in daily tasks.
