Job summary

The Arbor at Berkeley is hiring compassionate Caregivers for part-time swing shifts (2:00 pm-10:00 pm) with a potential move to full-time within 90 days. The role includes assisting residents with daily living, meals, mobility, and documentation, in a supportive senior living environment.

We offer a wage of $21.00–$22.00/hour plus full-time benefits. Ideal candidates are attentive, patient, professional, and dedicated to high-quality care and customer service for seniors.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent preferred.
• Prior caregiving experience in senior living, assisted living, memory care, skilled nursing, or healthcare preferred.
• Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
• Ability to remain calm, respectful, and professional in a fast-paced care environment.
• Must be reliable, punctual, and able to follow direction and community procedures.
• Ability to document clearly and accurately.
• Must maintain resident confidentiality and professionalism at all times.
• Physical requirements include standing, walking, bending, lifting, repositioning, and assisting residents.

Responsibilities

• Assist residents with activities of daily living, including bathing, dressing, grooming, toileting, oral care, and hygiene.
• Help residents with mobility, transfers, repositioning, and transportation throughout the community.
• Support residents during meals, including set-up, encouragement, and after-meal assistance.
• Observe residents closely and report changes in condition, incidents, injuries, or concerns to the nurse or supervisor.
• Answer call lights and check on residents regularly to ensure needs are met.
• Maintain accurate documentation, flow sheets, and care-related records as assigned.
• Help prepare rooms for new residents and assist with admissions, transfers, and discharges.
• Support a clean, calm, respectful, and positive living environment; follow infection control and confidentiality policies.
