Job summary

Lake Song Assisted Living in Minnesota is seeking a Resident Care Attendant (RCA) to provide routine non-invasive personal care under RN/LPN supervision. You will help with hygiene, nutrition, activities and report changes to the nursing team.

The role emphasizes infection control, safety and accurate shift documentation in ResDex. The position requires a high school diploma or GED (strongly preferred) and completion of a formal RCA training program, plus orientation, shadowing and medication

Qualifications

• High School diploma or GED strongly preferred.
• RCA training program with competency testing requirements.
• At least 40 hours orientation and 24 hours shadowing.
• 8 hour medication class completion.
• 8 hours of educational in-service per year.

Responsibilities

• Assist with resident hygiene, nutrition, activity and treatments.
• Ensure residents' needs and comfort are a priority.
• Ensure safety for residents in all situations.
• Follow Lake Song Assisted Living policies and procedures.
• Complete documentation in ResDex during each shift.
• Submit end-of-shift paperwork accurately.
• Advocate for residents and families; notify RN on-call.
• Attend infection control in-services annually.
• Practice and follow infection control standards.
• Clean resident rooms and public areas; note unsafe conditions.
• Assist with self-administration of medications and escalate emergencies.
• Attend 75%+ staff meetings; record attendance.
• Maintain compliance with educational hours yearly.
• Able to work mandated shifts.
• Perform additional duties as time permits.
