Job summary

Birch Academy is hiring a compassionate Bus Monitor in Manchester, NH. You will ensure student safety during loading, transit, and unloading, while supporting students with mobility or sensory needs and following individualized behavior plans.

The role involves collaboration with the driver and school staff to maintain a safe, orderly environment on the bus. The position requires a high school diploma and preferred experience with individuals with developmental disabilities or autism.

Qualifications

• Patience, empathy, and reliability in interacting with students.
• Ability to work as part of a school team to support learning and safety.
• Strong communication and collaboration with bus drivers and staff.

Responsibilities

• Ensure student safety during loading, transit, and unloading.
• Assist students entering/exiting the bus, including those with mobility needs.
• Support behavioral and emotional needs per plans and BCBA/teacher guidance.
• Communicate incidents and concerns to staff and parents as appropriate.
• Be prepared for emergencies and follow safety procedures.
