Job summary

The Northborough-Southborough Public Schools are seeking a part-time Bus Monitor at Neary Elementary School to support students during before/after school transportation. You will assist with onboarding and offloading, monitor safety, and reinforce prosocial bus behaviors under the direction of the School Principal.

Qualifications

• High School diploma or equivalent GED preferred.
• Ability to provide for the health and safety of students while transporting.
• Ability to read, understand and follow oral and written instructions.
• Proven ability to establish and maintain effective working relationships with employees, supervisors and the general public.
• Physically be able to meet the demands of the job.
• Acceptable results of a national background check.

Responsibilities

• The Bus Monitor supports a specific student or students while on the bus ride.
• Providing individual support to student(s) whose plans require monitoring;
• Attend any necessary trainings from school staff on student(s) needs and the student(s) bus plan;
• Implement the student(s) individual bus plan(s);
• Should there be a same-day cancellation, the bus monitor would still be compensated;
• Other duties as needed and assigned
