Bayhealth Sussex Campus is seeking a dedicated RN for 5B in Milford, DE. The 24-bed Progressive Care Unit supports residency programs and earned the AACN Beacon Award for excellence. Night shifts are 12 hours, full-time, 72 hours biweekly, at the Sussex Campus in Milford.

Qualifications

• Education: Associate Degree in Nursing or Nursing Diploma.
• Credential(s): Registered Nurse Basic Life Support.
• ACLS / PALS may be required per manager’s direction and timeframe.
• Commit to seeking specialty certification within time frame as indicated during interview.
• Experience: Required; Preferred: Experience in relevant specialty.

Responsibilities

• Provide direct, professional nursing care to patients in the acute care setting.
• Develop a patient-centered plan of care based on individual needs.
• Maintain confidentiality of patient medical records.
• Counsel and educate patients and care partners on treatment plans.
• Administer medications following the five rights of administration.
• Provide wound care and dressing changes as applicable.
• Read and interpret patient information to guide treatment decisions.
• Consult with physicians on best treatment decisions when appropriate.
• Perform nursing interventions to achieve optimal patient outcomes.
• Observe and record patient responses to nursing interventions.
• Deliver high-quality, safe patient care.
• Delegate tasks to unlicensed assistive personnel and LPNs.
• Demonstrate core values: compassion, accountability, respect, teamwork, integrity.
