Job summary

Shady Grove Medical Center, part of Adventist HealthCare, seeks an experienced Registered Nurse for the Med Surg Oncology unit in Rockville, MD. You will educate patients and families, mentor junior staff, and develop individualized care plans while maintaining ANA standards and mission values.

The role calls for a Maryland RN license, NCLEX pass, BLS, and 1+ year of RN experience. Shifts are days, 36 hours per week, with every-other weekend rotation and a competitive pay range.

Qualifications

• Graduate of an accredited nursing program.
• Passing score on NCLEX.
• Minimum 1 year of RN experience.
• Current Maryland State nursing license.
• Active BLS certification required.
• ACLS, PALS, NRP as required by unit.

Responsibilities

• Educate patients and family through the continuum of care.
• Serve as role models to Level I nurses and use electronic resources.
• Develop a plan of care according to patient population.
• Identify changes in patient condition and initiate corrective action.
• Mentor students, colleagues and team members in patient-centered care.
• Conduct purposeful rounds from patient and family perspective.
