Job summary

Lakeland Rehabilitation and Healthcare Center in Indianapolis is seeking a compassionate RN/LPN to provide direct nursing care and supervise day-to-day nursing activities for residents in a skilled nursing setting.

The role emphasizes a patient-centered approach, collaboration with staff across departments, and adherence to federal, state, and local standards to maintain high-quality care.

Qualifications

• Must hold a current unencumbered RN or LPN license.
• Must be able to read, write, speak, and understand English.
• Must be able to make independent decisions when circumstances warrant such action.
• Knowledgeable of nursing practices and regulations governing nursing facilities.
• Current CPR certification is required.
• Experience in long-term care is preferred.

Responsibilities

• Direct the day-to-day functions of the nursing assistants and plan shift services.
• Complete admission, transfer and discharge paperwork; transcribe physician orders; chart notes and incident reports.
• Prepare and administer medications as ordered by the physician.
• Develop and maintain good rapport with inter-departmental staff and create a warm, calm environment; participate in rounds with physicians.
• Administer additional professional nursing services as needed and ensure safety and privacy of residents.
