Qualifications

• Graduate from a school of nursing; BSN preferred.
• Current license to practice as an RN in Ohio.
• Experience in an acute hospital setting preferred.
• Ability to plan, organize and manage patient care, including delegation and supervision.
• Strong interpersonal, verbal and written communication skills.
• BLS Healthcare Provider certification required.
• ACLS required or willing to complete within first year.
• PALS required or willing to complete within first year if in Emergency Dept.
• Good communication, human relationship, and team orientation with staff, patients, families, physicians, and the public.

Responsibilities

• Exhibits the Service Excellence Behavior Standards; model excellence for all to see.
• Delivers patient care for assigned group using the nursing process.
• Perform CLIA-waived testing and point-of-care glucose as needed.
• Delegate and supervise co-workers and staff in patient care delivery.
• Communicate clinical information to the care team and keep patients/families updated.
• Coordinate and facilitate patient and family education.
• Participate in discharge planning and continuity of care forms as appropriate.
• Administer medications per policies and physician orders.
• Initiate emergency procedures under physician direction and maintain patient safety.
• Collaborate with physicians and other disciplines regarding the care plan.
• Document accurately per standards and policies.
• Utilize computer systems effectively and adhere to digital documentation practices.
• Support orientation of new staff and student experiences.
• Accept charge nurse responsibilities as assigned.
• Assist in maintaining regulatory readiness and department compliance.
