Job summary

Stepping Stones is a residential program offering safe, supportive, and child-centered services for youths with disabilities. The Youth Care Specialist provides direct care, supervision, and support to children and adolescents in our residential program, helping them develop emotional, behavioral, social, educational, and life skills.

The role emphasizes trauma-informed, person-centered care, collaboration with families and clinicians, and supervising youth in structured environments.

Qualifications

• High School Diploma or GED required.
• Must be at least 21 years of age.
• Valid driver's license and acceptable driving record.
• Ability to obtain and maintain all required clearances and training.
• Experience working with children/adolescents with intellectual disabilities or behavioral health programs is preferred.

Responsibilities

• Provide daily supervision and support to youth in a residential setting.
• Assist residents with daily living activities including hygiene, grooming, meals, chores and independent living skills.
• Provide positive behavioral support using trauma-informed and person-centered approaches.
• Support residents in achieving treatment, behavioral, and personal goals.
• Document daily activities, incidents, observations and resident progress.
• Participate in recreational, educational, and community-based activities.
• Transport residents to appointments, activities, and community outings as needed.
• Monitor health, safety, and well-being of residents and report concerns.
• Assist with medication administration after completing required training.
• Respond to crises and emergencies while maintaining a safe environment.
• Work collaboratively with supervisors, clinicians, families, and other team members.
• There are full-time, part-time and per diem positions.
