Job summary

Stepping Stones is seeking compassionate Youth Care Specialists to join our residential program in Allentown, PA. You will provide direct care, supervision, and support to children and adolescents with intellectual and/or autism disabilities, creating a structured, safe, and therapeutic environment.

This full-time or part-time, non-exempt position requires a High School diploma or GED and being at least 21 years old.

Qualifications

• High School Diploma or GED required.
• Must be at least 21 years of age.
• Valid driver's license and acceptable driving record.
• Ability to obtain and maintain all required clearances and training.
• Experience with children/adolescents with intellectual disabilities preferred.

Responsibilities

• Provide daily supervision and support to youth in a residential setting.
• Assist residents with daily living activities, including hygiene, grooming, meals, chores, and independent living skills.
• Provide positive behavioral support using trauma-informed and person-centered approaches.
• Support residents in achieving treatment, behavioral, and personal goals.
• Document daily activities, incidents, observations, and resident progress.
• Participate in recreational, educational, and community-based activities.
• Transport residents to appointments, activities, and community outings as needed.
• Monitor health, safety, and well-being of residents and report concerns appropriately.
• Assist with medication administration after completing required training.
• Respond appropriately to crises and emergency situations while maintaining a safe environment.
• Work collaboratively with supervisors, clinicians, families, and other team members to support positive outcomes for youth.

Job Summary

The Youth Care Specialist provides direct care, supervision, and support to children and adolescents with Intellectual and/or Autism Disabilities residing in our residential program. This position helps create a structured, safe, and therapeutic environment while promoting each child’s emotional, behavioral, social, educational, and life-skill development. Youth Care Specialists serve as positive role models and play a critical role in helping youth achieve stability and success.

• Non-Exempt position

Education & Experience

Required:

• High School Diploma or GED
• Must be at least 21 years of age

• Ability to obtain and maintain all required clearances and training

Preferred:

• Experience working with children and/or adolescents with intellectual disabilities, behavioral health programs, residential services, schools, recreation programs, or child welfare environments
