Job summary

Atria Senior Living in Rhode Island is seeking a dependable Transportation driver to support Engage Life programs and transport residents safely to activities and appointments. You must have a GED or high school diploma, 5+ years of driving, a CDL, and the ability to operate a multi-passenger bus; knowledge of local streets within an 8-mile radius is helpful.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or GED required.
• Five (5) or more years of driving experience and knowledge of vehicle preventative maintenance programs.
• Commercial driver's license required to operate commercial size vehicles.
• Able to operate a seven (7) to sixteen (16) passenger bus.
• Experienced with vehicle emergency repairs and basic tire changes.
• Knowledgeable of all streets within an 8-mile radius of the community.
• Position requires driving responsibilities and may use company or personal vehicle.
• Must meet Atria Motor Vehicle Record Policy standards.

Responsibilities

• Provide safe, courteous transportation for residents to activities and appointments.
• Coordinate vehicle pre-maintenance, maintenance, and repairs to ensure longevity.
• Drive from community to social and other destinations according to schedule.
• Assist residents into and out of vehicles safely.
• Secure passengers' wheelchairs and ensure their safety during trips.
• Maintain daily/weekly trip inspections and maintenance records.
• Deliver groceries and belongings to residents' apartments.
• Support Engage Life activities and programs as needed.
• Ensure charges for community travel expenses are submitted daily.
