Job summary

Avera St. Mary's seeks a PRN Resident Assistant to support residents with daily living activities, meals, medications, housekeeping and laundry per care plans. You will work on varied shifts in a multidisciplinary team and assist with admissions, transfers and discharges.

You will report changes in residents’ conditions, respond to call lights, help with activities and maintain a clean, safe environment while upholding compassion and dignity for each resident.

Qualifications

• High School or GED Equivalent.

Responsibilities

• Assists residents with daily living, meals, medications, housekeeping and laundry per care plan.
• Respects residents' valuables and personal property, including dentures, glasses/contact lenses and hearing aids.
• Reports changes observed in residents’ condition or behavior to the team.
• Answers call lights, anticipates needs and completes frequent rounds.
• Prepares rooms and belongings for admission, transfer and discharge.
• Maintains clean, sanitary environments and reports equipment in need of repair.
• Assists residents with activities or directs activities as needed.
• Keeps areas clean and stocked with supplies; replenishes gloves, soap and towels.
• Prepares dining room for meals and serves meals with attention to sanitation and temperature.
• Notes diet extensions when preparing special diets and reports food quality concerns.
