Job summary

Qualifications

• Currently enrolled in CNA program or licensed CNA.
• Minimum 6 months experience as CNA or clinical experience during certification class.
• Must read, write and speak English.
• Ability to deal tactfully with residents, families, staff and the general public.
• Willingness to work harmoniously with other personnel.
• Must have patience, tact, cheerful disposition and enthusiasm, with ability to handle residents at their level.
• Must be in good health and emotionally stable.
• Able to relate to and work with ill, disabled, elderly residents.

Responsibilities

• Make resident rounds at the beginning of each shift and every two hours thereafter to administer care.
• Verify the identification of a resident before administering care or meals.
• Report missing ID bands to admission coordinator immediately.
• Make beds, clean bedside and overbed tables.
• Ensure water pitchers are cleaned, filled with fresh drinking water and within resident’s reach.
• Perform other duties as directed by Charge Nurse, RN Supervisor, Director of Nurses, or Administrator.
