Job summary

The Bristal Assisted Living in Bethpage, NY is seeking compassionate Resident Service Assistants/Home Health Aides to join our on-site team. You will provide hands-on care, assist with ADLs, and help residents enjoy daily activities with dignity and respect.

This full-time position offers meaningful work in a premier senior living community. Qualified candidates will have CNA/PCA/HHA credentials, English proficiency, and a patient, adaptable approach to dementia and aging.

Qualifications

Certified Nursing Assistant, Personal Care Attendant or Home Health Aide credential.
Experience assisting residents with Alzheimer's disease and dementia is a plus.
Must be able to speak and read in English.
Experience with geriatric populations preferred, assisting with ADLs.
Ability to follow instructions and establish personal care routines.
Basic understanding of dementia; patient and professional approach.
Ability to adapt to different personality types and situations.
Reliable, caring and gentle in touch and demeanor.
Respect for the elderly and maintain calmness.

Responsibilities

Assisting residents manage Activities of Daily Living (ADLs).
Escorting residents to meals and recreational activities.
Supporting residents in achieving their highest level of physical, emotional and psycho-social well-being.
Helping out as needed in the Wellness area to ensure safety, comfort and wellbeing of residents.
Following all policies and procedures, and adhering to the instructions of the Nurse Shift Supervisor and the Director of Wellness.
