Qualifications

• Must have a High School Diploma or GED.
• Must have completed approved personal care aide program per state regulations as applicable.
• Must be able to communicate verbally and in writing.
• Must be organized and work well with all levels of personnel.
• Must be a contributing member of the nursing team and follow supervisor instruction.
• Be polite and considerate of residents, visitors, and co-workers.
• Able to walk and stand for extended periods.
• Can lift 50 lbs and push or carry 25 lbs.
• Able to safely lift and transfer residents with proper body mechanics.
• Wearing designated uniform during working hours, including name badge.
• CPR/First Aid certified, or willing to become certified within 60 days of hire.
• Attend and complete all required in-services and staff meetings.
• Willing to work a flexible schedule including weekends and holidays.

Responsibilities

• Assist residents with activities of daily living.
• Perform housekeeping duties in resident areas and common spaces as directed.
• Respond promptly to resident calls for assistance or emergencies.
• Communicate resident status and information to the nursing team.
• Assist in planning and conducting activity programs for residents.
• Support move-in transitions and provide emotional support to new residents.
• Follow confidentiality policies regarding resident information.
• Assist residents to and from dining and activities, and monitor meals.
• Report resident status and concerns to appropriate staff.
