Responsibilities

• Performs care of residents under direction of nursing and medical staff.
• Answers signal lights, bells, or intercom to determine needs.
• Bathes, dresses, and undresses residents.
• Serves and collects food trays and feeds residents requiring help after training.
• Transports residents using wheelchair or wheeled cart, or assists residents to walk.
• Turns and repositions residents requiring physical assistance to maintain skin integrity.
• Changes bed linens, runs errands, directs visitors, and answers telephone as needed.
• Monitors food and fluid intake and output as directed.
• Cleans, sterilizes, stores, prepares, and issues supplies as needed.
• Reports resident status to the nurse and documents in the medical record.
• May be assigned other duties.
