Job summary

The Bristal Assisted Living in Jericho, NY is seeking a compassionate Resident Services Aide to work 7 am to 3 pm. This on-site, full-time role requires assisting residents with daily living activities and providing kind, respectful care to support their safety and wellbeing.

Qualifications include CNA/Personal Care Attendant or Home Health Aide certification, English proficiency, and experience with geriatric populations. Weekend rotation is required.

Qualifications

• Certified Nursing Assistant, Personal Care Attendant or Home Health Aide is required or preferred.
• Experience assisting those with Alzheimer's disease and dementia is a plus.
• Must be able to speak and read in English.
• Geriatric population experience preferred, assisting with ADLs.
• Ability to follow instructions and establish personal care routines.
• Basic understanding of dementia; patient and professional in redirecting residents.
• Ability to adapt to different personality types and situations.
• Reliable, caring and gentle in touch and demeanor.
• Respect for the elderly and stay calm at all times.

Responsibilities

• Assisting residents with Activities of Daily Living (ADLs).
• Escorting residents to meals and recreational activities.
• Supporting residents in achieving their highest physical, emotional and psycho-social well-being.
• Assisting in the Wellness area to ensure safety, comfort and well-being.
• Following all policies and procedures, and instructions of the Nurse Shift Supervisor and Director of Wellness.
