Job summary

Qualifications

• Must be at least 18 years old.
• High school diploma or equivalent and ability to read, write, and follow directions.
• CNA certification in state or completion and certification within four months of employment.
• Must maintain regular attendance and be able to work weekends and overtime.
• Must meet health regulations and pass required exams.

Responsibilities

• Provide personal care including bathing, oral care, grooming, and hygiene.
• Assist residents with mobility, transfers, and positioning.
• Aid with meals, feeding when necessary, and documenting intake.
• Empty bedpans/urinals and help residents to bathroom or bedside commode.
• Observe residents for changes in condition and report to supervisor.
• Take and record vital signs as assigned.
• Maintain turn schedules for skin care and use lotion/massage as directed.
• Ensure residents’ rights, dignity, and confidentiality are upheld.
• Assist with admissions and discharges; accompany residents to activities.
• Document information daily in electronic health records.
• Adhere to universal precautions and facility policies.
