Job summary

Heritage Family in Covington, TN seeks a Part-Time Removal Technician to handle dignified removal and transportation of decedents from homes, hospitals, hospice and care facilities to the funeral home. You will make a compassionate first impression on grieving families and follow company policies with professionalism.

You must be able to lift up to 75 pounds, pass a background check, hold a valid driver’s license, and work after-hours, weekends, and holidays as needed.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent preferred.
• Strong interpersonal skills and emotional maturity to handle grief-related situations with compassion.
• Availability to work after-hours, weekends, and holidays as needed.
• Ability to communicate effectively with families, team members, and medical personnel.
• Strong attention to detail and ability to manage paperwork and logistics efficiently.
• Must pass a background check and possess a valid driver’s license with a clean driving record.

Responsibilities

• Respond to first calls promptly, compassionately, and professionally.
• Safely operate company vehicles to transport the deceased from various locations.
• Adhere to all funeral home policies and procedures related to removals and transfers.
• Communicate respectfully and clearly with family members, healthcare professionals, and staff.
• Complete required paperwork, including first call sheets, valuables documentation, and ID tags.
• Maintain chain of custody and universal precautions at all times.
• Assist with light vehicle maintenance and cleanliness to ensure readiness.
