Job summary

Palmetto General Hospital is seeking a patient transport professional responsible for moving patients of all ages across hospital areas in a friendly, professional and ethical manner. The role includes maintaining transport equipment and could involve pediatric transports with nursing staff.

Cross-training for clerical tasks and film file room duties is possible; readiness to walk extended periods and prioritize transports is required.

Qualifications

• HS graduate or equivalent.
• Preferred transporting experience.
• Must be accurate with names and numbers
• Must be self-motivated once job duties are learned and should be able to work with minimal supervision.

Responsibilities

• Transports patients of all ages to and from all hospital sub-sections areas in a friendly, professional and ethical manner.
• Maintains transport equipment.
• Transports pediatric patients with the attendance of nursing personnel.
• May be crossed trained to perform clerical and film file room duties.
• Must be able to walk for extended periods.
• Strength and coordination are required.
• Consults clerical receptionist and/or technical supervisor for priority transporting.
• Schedule flexibility.
