Job summary

Palmetto General Hospital is seeking a Hospital Transporter to move patients of all ages throughout the campus in a courteous, efficient manner. You will also maintain transport equipment and coordinate with nursing staff for pediatric transports.

The role may include clerical and film file room duties as needed; candidates should be able to walk for extended periods and have strong coordination. A background check and drug screening are required.

Qualifications

• HS graduate or equivalent.
• Preferred transporting experience.
• Must be accurate with names and numbers.
• Must be self-motivated once job duties are learned and should be able to work with minimal supervision.

Responsibilities

• Transport patients of all ages to and from hospital areas.
• Maintain transport equipment.
• Cross trained to perform clerical and film file room duties.
• Must be able to walk for extended periods and have strength and coordination.
