Job summary

Clinton House Rehabilitation and Healthcare Center in Indiana is seeking a Qualified Medication Aide (QMA) to provide resident care under nursing and medical staff. You will administer medications, monitor vital signs, and maintain accurate records in a supportive long-term care setting.

Ideal candidates hold a QMA certificate in good standing and a current CNA certificate, with at least one year of long-term care experience.

Qualifications

• QMA Certificate in good standing on file with the appropriate Department of Health and current CNA Certificate.
• One year experience in long-term care setting desired.

Responsibilities

• Obtains and records patient’s vital signs and weight.
• Administers and documents medications according to physician orders.
• Maintains compliance with personnel policies, community procedures, and laws including HIPAA.
• Performs treatments not requiring licensed nurse (hot/cold applications, vital signs, weights).
• Observes and reports observations such as medication effects.
• Takes vital signs prior to administration of certain medications.
• Provides direct resident care and functions as a CNA when not administering medications.
• Develops and maintains courteous professional relationships with residents, visitors and co-workers.
• Performs other tasks as assigned by supervisor.
