Job summary

You will assist with mobility, gait training, transfers, and therapeutic exercises under a licensed Physical Therapist. Candidates must complete an accredited PTA program and hold Florida PTA certification or license; strong communication

Qualifications

• Completion of an accredited Physical Therapist Assistant program.
• Current PTA certification or license in Florida.
• Strong communication and interpersonal skills with elderly residents.
• Ability to work collaboratively with therapists, nursing staff, and care teams.
• Compassionate, patient-centered approach to care.
• Ability to lift and assist residents safely during activities.

Responsibilities

• Deliver high-quality patient care under supervision of a licensed Physical Therapist.
• Assist residents with mobility training, gait training, transfers, and strengthening exercises.
• Implement individualized therapy treatment plans per resident needs.
• Monitor progress and document outcomes accurately.
• Provide education and support to residents and families on home exercises.
• Maintain a safe, clean therapy environment and proper equipment use.
• Collaborate with nursing staff and interdisciplinary teams to support care plans.
• Encourage resident participation and promote independence in daily activities.
