Job summary

River Bend Health and Rehabilitation in Asheville, NC seeks a skilled Physical Therapist Assistant (PTA) to join our therapy team under a licensed PT’s supervision, delivering exercises, gait training, and mobility interventions to residents.

Ideal candidates have an accredited PTA program diploma, current PTA licensure, and CPR certification (or obtain on hire). Experience in skilled nursing/long-term care is preferred; strong clinical, communication, and teamwork skills are essential.

Qualifications

• Graduate of an accredited Physical Therapist Assistant program.
• Current and valid licensure/certification as a PTA.
• CPR certification required (or must obtain upon hire).
• Experience in a skilled nursing or long-term care setting preferred.
• Strong clinical, communication, and teamwork skills.

Responsibilities

• Carry out treatment plans designed by the Physical Therapist, including therapeutic exercises, gait training, balance activities, and functional mobility tasks.
• Assist residents in improving strength, range of motion, and overall physical endurance.
• Monitor and document residents' treatments, progress, and responses in accordance with facility and regulatory standards.
• Communicate effectively with the supervising PT regarding residents' status, changes, and potential adjustments to care plans.
• Provide education to residents, families, and caregivers on exercise programs, mobility techniques, and safety measures.
• Adhere to facility policies, professional practice standards, and regulatory requirements, including documentation and infection control.
