Job summary

Kindred Hospital Brea is seeking a Physical Therapist Assistant (PTA) for a Long-Term Acute Care Hospital in Westminster, CA. This Per Diem position offers a wage scale of $28.00 - $50.00 per hour and requires an associate degree in PTA.

Work under the supervision of a Physical Therapist to help patients participate in rehabilitation and improve their functional abilities. The role involves collaborating with a multidisciplinary team, documenting progress, and ensuring safe, compliant care.

Qualifications

• Graduate of an accredited Physical Therapy Assistant / PTA program culminating in an associate degree.
• Current state licensure as Physical Therapy Assistant / PTA or equivalent in the states where services are rendered.
• CPR certification (when required).
• Prior hospital or skilled nursing facility (SNF) experience.
• Available to participate in required training sessions.

Responsibilities

• Work in a team providing quality, compassionate care in a secure setting.
• Implement the patient's Care Plan for rehabilitation under supervision of the Physical Therapist.
• Communicate progress to supervisor and team; assist with scheduling and post charges to records.
• Document patient care in accordance with regulatory, licensing, payer and accrediting requirements.
• Instruct patient's family or nursing staff in follow-through programs.
• Maintain equipment and work area in a safe and clean condition.
• Handle duties in line with company policies and applicable laws.
• Other duties as assigned.
