Job summary

Advocate Health is seeking a dedicated hospital aide for the Navicent Health Medical Center – Psychiatric unit. The role involves direct patient care, ADLs, safety, and documentation in a fast-paced psychiatric setting.

You will join a team focused on essential care delivery, while adhering to unit standards and participating in ongoing quality improvement initiatives. A minimum high school diploma is required; CNA preferred and one year of patient care experience is desirable.

Qualifications

• Ability to communicate with patients, staff, and coworkers.
• Experience taking care of patients preferred.
• CNA certification preferred.

Responsibilities

• Demonstrates competency in physical patient care per unit standards and assists with activities of daily living.
• Performs post-op/procedure and post-mortem care as needed.
• Assists with ambulation, transfer, and admission/discharge processes.
• Maintains patient safety, accuracy of documentation, and electrolyte/ vital sign monitoring.
• Maintains a clean, safe patient environment and proper equipment handling.
• Participates in unit meetings and quality improvement activities.
