Job summary

Bon Secours Mercy Health in Colonial Heights, VA is seeking a licensed Physical Therapist for PRN work at Southside Medical Center. You will assess patients, plan and provide skilled PT interventions across outpatient, inpatient, pediatric and off-site settings as part of the continuum of care.

The role requires a Doctor of Physical Therapy (DPT), a state license, and BLS; at least two years of experience is preferred. Collaboration with physicians, families and health teams is essential.

Qualifications

• Licensed Physical Therapist in the state of current practice or eligible for traineeship or temporary license in the state of current practice (required)
• BLS Basic Life Support (preferred upon hire, required within 30 days for BSMH, required at hire for RSFH)

Responsibilities

• Evaluates patients, gathering pertinent information from various sources, and develops an appropriate treatment plan with specific goals.
• Provides direct therapy to patients daily following patient’s plan of care and current standards of practice for Physical Therapy.
• Maintains accurate and concise records on treatment provided and patient's progress. Documents all care provided, coordination of services, orders, goals, etc. in the patient’s electronic medical record in an accurate and timely manner.
• Maintains departmental policies and procedures regarding safety, infection control, time off requests and timecard recording.
• Supervises the physical therapist assistant’s treatment interventions and professional growth.
