Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent.
• Phlebotomy certificate preferred.
• One-year hospital experience (including venipuncture) preferred.
• Familiarity with a hospital laboratory and medical terminology preferred.

Responsibilities

• Draws blood from patients for analysis or other medical purposes.
• Assembles equipment for blood collection according to test requirements.
• Verifies patient identity and explains procedures to patients.
• Promotes positive patient interactions and maintains confidentiality.
• Performs infection control practices and uses PPE as required.
• Obtain Basic Life Support within 30 days of start date.
