Job summary

61st Street Service Corporation provides administrative and clinical support to ColumbiaDoctors in the Northeast. The Phlebotomist role involves drawing blood, performing EKGs, and processing specimens with strict patient verification and labeling procedures.

You will work under the direction of the Manager, ensuring accurate, timely specimen collection while delivering excellent customer service in a busy clinical setting. EPIC experience is preferred and bilingual skills are a plus.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent is required.
• Phlebotomy Technician certification and NYS 12-Lead ECG certification preferred.
• Experience in phlebotomy desirable; strong customer service orientation is essential.

Responsibilities

• Perform veni-puncture, finger sticks and heel punctures on adults and pediatric patients.
• Perform EKGs for patients.
• Process blood specimens by accessioning, spinning and packaging for transport.
• Coordinate specimen pick-ups and tracking of specimens when necessary.
• Ensure proper patient identification and labeling of specimens.
• Maintain a clean, safe draw room and follow universal precautions.
