Job summary

FlexStaff is seeking a skilled phlebotomist to verify requests and patient information, and to draw blood from adult, pediatric and infant patients in a clinical setting. You will process specimens following established procedures and maintain related records.

As part of the team, you will follow in-process quality control procedures, monitor patient comfort, and report any abnormal conditions to the proper personnel. Attention to detail and reliability are essential.

Qualifications

• High School Diploma or equivalent, required.
• Certified in Phlebotomy from a National Organization, preferred.
• Minimum of one (1) year Phlebotomy experience OR Phlebotomy/Medical Assistant education program, required.
• 1 yr of hospital setting experience
• Knowledge of laboratory computer, preferred

Responsibilities

• Verifies request, patient and specimen information.
• Draws blood from adult, pediatric and/or infant patients and processes specimens following established procedures and techniques.
• Follows in-process quality control procedures. Maintains related records.
• Remains aware of patient emotional/physiological condition and reports abnormal conditions to the proper people.
• Performs related duties, as required.
