Job summary

Chelsea and Westminster Hospital NHS Foundation Trust is seeking a phlebotomist to collect routine blood from patients and transport samples to collection points or the laboratory. You will work across the Trust following training, upholding high standards of patient care and professional conduct.

Key duties include timely blood collection, maintaining confidentiality, reporting stock issues to the Manager, and collaborating with other departments to ensure smooth service delivery while adhering

Responsibilities

Collect routine blood from patients as and when required.
Maintain strict confidentiality in all aspects of the service.
Deliver blood samples to collection points or the laboratory at specified collection times.
Report inadequate supplies of materials to the Manager.
Be part of a team whose aims are to provide the best possible service within constraints.
Maintain high standards of personal contact and communication with patients and relatives.
Liaise with other disciplines and departments as required under the direction of the Unit Manager.
Maintain good standards of department housekeeping, including cleaning of treatment areas and equipment and assisting with stock levels.
Inform the Manager of any problems relating to your sphere/area of work.
Be aware of emergency procedures relating to Basic Life Support and Health & Safety and understand your roles within that.
