Job summary

Medicine Express, a part of the Dover Companies, seeks a Data Entry Pharmacy Technician for its Belleville, IL pharmacy. You will transcribe orders, prepare unit doses, and label medications for nursing units, working under a licensed pharmacist.

The role requires Illinois certification, on-site rotating shifts (weekends/holidays), and strong accuracy and customer service. Training and a comprehensive benefits package are offered.

Qualifications

• Designation as ‘Certified’ with the Illinois Board of Pharmacy required.
• Associate degree or technical program OR High school diploma with 1-2 years as Pharmacy Technician.
• Active Illinois Pharmacy Technician Registration.
• Willing to work on-site in rotating shifts including weekends/holidays.
• Strong customer service and communication skills.

Responsibilities

• Transcribes physicians’ orders into the pharmacy computer profile.
• Prepare unit doses and label medications for dispensing to nursing units.
• Assist with narcotic medication preparation and record-keeping.
• Prepackage medications using automated machines and maintain recall records.
• Assist with billing and filing related paperwork.
• Support staff meetings and ongoing policy updates.
