Job summary

Refinery Road Veterinary Clinic in Gainesville, TX is seeking a Kennel Assistant to support grooming and boarding services. You will help admit patients, maintain clean kennels, feed and walk animals, and assist with basic restraint under supervision.

Weekend availability and prior veterinary experience are preferred. The role offers POSITIVE team environment, PTO, and benefits. Training provided and opportunities to grow within Refinery Road Veterinary Clinic.

Responsibilities

• Provides care for grooming and boarding pets.
• Admits patients with accurate instructions and contact details.
• Records feeding, appearance, and behavior notes.
• Observes condition and signs of illness or distress.
• Restraints animals safely as directed by staff.
• Walks animals several times daily for exercise and elimination.
• Provides appropriate food and fluids as needed.
• Keeps cages clean, organized, and labeled; ensures proper property handling.
• Cleans kennels, wards, and common areas; washes bowls.
• Launders towels and blankets; maintains hospital hygiene.
• Performs other duties as assigned.
