Job summary

Carteret House is seeking a compassionate Personal Care Assistant (PCA) to support residents with daily living activities and promote independence in a safe, nurturing environment.

The PCA will assist with ADLs, monitor residents' health, encourage social engagement, and ensure adherence to safety and infection control protocols. A high school diploma or GED and PCA/CNA training are preferred, with at least 1 year of relevant experience.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or GED preferred.
• Completion of a state-approved PCA, CNA, or caregiver training program preferred.
• Minimum of 1 year of experience in personal care, senior living, or healthcare preferred.
• Strong interpersonal and communication skills; compassionate and attentive to residents' needs.

Responsibilities

• Personal Care Support: assist with ADLs (bathing, dressing, grooming, toileting, mobility) and meal support.
• Health Monitoring: observe and report changes; assist with medication reminders.
• Resident Engagement: foster relationships and encourage participation in activities to promote wellbeing.
• Safety & Compliance: maintain clean, safe living areas; follow infection control protocols and emergencies procedures.
