Job summary

Altra Homecare of Kokomo is seeking a Personal Care Assistant to provide in-home care services in Kokomo, IN. You will support mobility, hygiene, nutrition, medication reminders and daily activities while maintaining patient safety and dignity.

Responsibilities include documenting care, reporting changes to supervisors, and following state guidelines. It is ideal to have 1 year of experience and CPR certification; a valid driver’s license and auto insurance are required.

Qualifications

• Must be 18 years of age or older.
• Possess a valid Driver's License and Auto Insurance.
• Preferred: Minimum of 1 year of relevant work experience.
• Ability to read, follow written instructions, and document care provided.
• Current CPR certification.
• Comply with training requirements as per State and Federal laws.

Responsibilities

• Assist with patient laundry when necessary.
• Provide medication reminders.
• Ensure patient safety.
• Report significant changes in the patient's condition directly to their supervisor.
• Prepare light meals and assist with patient feeding when required.
• Monitor and record patient temperature.
• Assist patients with ambulation.
• Conduct range of motion exercises and other simple physical activities.
• Maintain comprehensive documentation and adhere to care protocols.
• Follow privacy policies and infection control guidelines.
• Offer bathing assistance.
• Perform light housekeeping.
• Provide companion services, including letter-writing and reading.
