Job summary

Therapeutic Alternatives, Inc. seeks compassionate staff to assist residents in an Assisted Living setting with daily living activities per care plans. You will support dressing, bathing, mobility, meals and personal hygiene while ensuring safety and dignity.

Responsibilities include responding to signals, providing transport assistance, helping with activities, and maintaining accurate documentation. A CNA/PC A cert is required within 6 months; 18+ and clean records are mandatory.

Qualifications

• Must obtain CNA or Personal Care Aide Certificate within 6 months of hire.
• Must be able to read, write, understand and follow directions.
• Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
• Able to lift, push, pull and carry at least 50 pounds.
• Able to bend, stoop, squat and reach overhead as needed.
• Must be at least 18 years old.
• No substantiated findings on NC Personnel Registry or Health Care Program; maintain during employment.
• Must have a clear SBI record; maintain during employment.
• Must have two-step TB skin test (initial before hire and second within two weeks).

Responsibilities

• Provide assistance with daily living activities according to Care Plan.
• Assure residents are dressed appropriately for living areas and outdoors.
• Assist residents with daily living activities to maximize independence.
• Perform personal care tasks as trained and per physician orders.
• Respond to hand bells and signaling calls promptly.
• Assist with transportation as indicated by ED/Administrator.
• Assist Activities Coordinator with planned activities.
• Keep clothes in proper order and beds made when needed.
• Provide towels and washcloths; maintain hygiene and safety.
• Handle resident equipment and supplies with care as needed.
• Maintain confidentiality and follow policies; document as required.
