Job summary

Personal-Touch Home Care & Hospice in Fredericksburg seeks qualified Personal Care Aides for private duty in a facility or home health setting. 1 year of caregiving and EMR familiarity preferred. PAID hourly, shifts include weekends; English literacy and PCA certification required.

Training and in-service support provided by a national home health leader. Pay ranges from $13.50 to $17.50 per hour; full-time positions with flexible hours depending on patient needs.

Qualifications

• Successful completion of an approved training program in home health services to become a Personal Care Aide with verified SKILLS testing.
• Has empathy for the needs of the ill, frail and impaired.
• Is able to communicate information concerning a patient’s condition clearly.
• Displays initiative to work with minimal direct supervision.
• Must be able to read, write and communicate in English.
• Must have reliable transportation and a smartphone.

Responsibilities

• Personal care including baths (bed, tub, shower), back rubs and grooming.
• Assists with dressing, toileting and feeding when necessary.
• Maintains patient living area clean and orderly; performs light housekeeping.
• Reports changes to supervising nurse and keeps simple records.
• Assists with transfers and mobility; participates in case conferences.
• Note: PCA's are never allowed to administer medications.
