Job summary

Ayrshire Independent Living Network (AILN) is seeking a warm, dependable Personal Assistant (Support Worker)/Driver in Irvine on a full-time temporary basis to cover sick leave. The role involves home-based care for a mother, father and son, including oxygen therapy and epilepsy management, across two households.

This position focuses on person-centred support that promotes independence, dignity and safety, in a private home environment. PVG checks and references are required.

Responsibilities

• Assistance with showering and hair washing.
• Providing support with daily living tasks and maintaining independence.
• Assisting with all aspects of maintaining and managing the household.
• General household duties including tidying, laundry, ironing and light cleaning.
• Assisting with meal planning, preparation of meals, drinks and kitchen organisation.
• Supporting with shopping, household errands and maintaining household supplies.
• Providing companionship and emotional support.
• Supporting attendance at appointments and social activities.
• Being mindful of oxygen equipment and maintaining a safe environment.
• Encouraging independence while providing appropriate support when needed.
• Maintaining confidentiality, dignity and respect at all times.
• Following health and safety guidance within the home environment.
