Job summary

UVA Health in Charlottesville, VA is seeking a Patient Care Technician to deliver direct, age-appropriate care under the supervision of RNs and licensed practitioners. You will support patient comfort, safety, hygiene and participate in plan of care as directed.

Responsibilities include gathering patient information, assisting with specimens, maintaining a safe environment, and contributing to a positive patient experience.

Qualifications

• Education: High School Graduate or Equivalent.
• Experience: No experience required.
• Licensure: AHA Health Care Provider BLS Certification required or acceptable alternative for non-certified hires.

Responsibilities

• Provide direct, age-appropriate care to patients under supervision of RN or licensed practitioner.
• Monitor patients’ conditions and provide updates to the health care team.
• Maintain a safe, clean, stocked clinical location to meet patient needs.
• Obtain and record patient information throughout the plan of care.
• Attend mandatory in-services and training.
• Identify and report safety concerns to the licensed practitioner and team.
• In addition to the above, other duties may be assigned.
