Job summary

South Richmond Adult Day Care in Richmond, VA is seeking a compassionate Personal Care Aide (PCA) to support adults in daily living activities and social programming. You will assist with bathing, mobility, meals, and hydration, while maintaining a safe and welcoming environment.

The role emphasizes empathy, reliability, and clear communication, with opportunities to participate in training and development. High school diploma or GED required; CPR/First Aid a plus.

Qualifications

• Prior experience as PCA, CNA, HHA, or in a direct care/caregiving role preferred.
• Genuine compassion and patience when working with elderly or disabled adults.
• Ability to assist with physical tasks including lifting and transferring clients.
• Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
• Reliable, punctual, and dependable work ethic.
• CPR/First Aid certification is a plus.
• High school diploma or GED required.

Responsibilities

• Assist clients with activities of daily living (ADLs) including bathing, grooming, dressing, and hygiene
• Support clients with mobility, transfers, and ambulation as needed
• Monitor and report changes in clients' physical or emotional condition to supervisory staff
• Engage clients in recreational, social, and therapeutic activities throughout the day
• Assist with meal preparation, feeding support, and hydration monitoring
• Maintain a safe, clean, and welcoming environment for all program participants
• Document care provided and maintain accurate client records
