Job summary

The University of Mississippi Medical Center in Jackson is seeking a Patient Care Associate (PCA) to assist nurses in providing care and basic daily living activities for patients on 5 South Hematology/Oncology.

The PCA will support patient comfort, safety and well-being, perform routine tasks, and document care under supervision. A high school diploma or GED and CPR/BLS are required, with post-hire CPR/BLS completion within three months.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or GED required.
• Basic communication, interpersonal and teamwork abilities.
• CPR/BLS certification required within 3 months post-hire.

Responsibilities

• Provide compassionate support to patients by addressing needs and assisting with daily living activities.
• Assist with bathing, grooming, dressing, toileting, feeding and mobility.
• Respond promptly to call lights and relay patient requests to nurses.
• Monitor changes in patient condition and communicate with the care team.
• Assist with meal service and maintain clean, safe patient areas.
