Job summary

Intermountain Health in Denver, CO seeks a part-time Patient Transporter to move patients safely and compassionately across departments, ensuring confidentiality and clear handoffs. You will use Safe Patient Handling methods, assist with admits/discharges, and support multiple care site areas as needed.

The role requires effective communication, teamwork, and punctual response to pagers, with 20 hours per week on day/evening shifts at Saint Joseph Hospital.

Qualifications

• Current BLS certification endorsed by the American Heart Association (AHA) or the ability to obtain within 60 days of hire.
• Must be at least 18 years old if working in Radiology areas per policy.

Responsibilities

• Transport patients safely and efficiently.
• Notify nurses and test-site staff of patient status and transport completion.
• Complete and sign the Patient Handoff Form before transport and upon completion.
• Document test location on the room whiteboard and communicate delays or issues.
• Assist with admits and discharges; perform wheelchair/bed rounding and restocking.
• Cross-train for other areas as needed (Morgue, Kitchen, EVS, etc.).
• Operate as part of a transportation team and maintain open communication.
